About

Westminster School is a Uniting Church, Early Learning to Year 12, coeducational day and boarding school, set in 23 hectares (57 acres) of grounds in Marion, a south-western suburb of Adelaide. About 1,230 students attend our School.

Ours is a friendly, open School community committed to providing the best opportunities for a wide range of students and assisting them to achieve their potential.

Westminster School offers an extensive and varied co-curricular program, and we strongly encourage our students to participate in it and represent the School in weekday and/or weekend sports. Westminster
seeks to provide opportunities for students to discover personal/individual talents and interests.

The co-curricular activities complement the students’ academic (curricular) program, thus developing a balanced education for each student. These activities not only allow opportunity for individual and
group/team involvement, but also provide a chance for students to find success and a sense of their own personal worth beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular program is voluntary and is conducted before/after school, also at lunch times and weekends.

We have specialist coaches in several sports eg. cricket, netball, basketball, soccer, tennis. Westminster offers a huge range of sports – 14 boys’ sports across 60 teams and 12 girls’ sports across 80 teams.

Sports programs are structured to suit students who just want to participate and also extend to the elite athlete.

Westminster School is fortunate to offer a state-of-the-art Sports and Swimming Centre, including a:

• 25-metre, 10-lane pool and separate learners’ pool
• 10-station rock climbing wall
• fully equipped gymnasium
• spring floor, electronic scoreboard, sound system and double basketball/ netball courts with change rooms and classrooms

We are also blessed with nearly 9 hectares (22 acres) of beautiful sporting fields including four football ovals, four soccer pitches, two softball diamonds, 10 tennis courts, 5 basketball courts, 12 netball courts
and a hockey pitch. We also have seven turf cricket pitches and one hard wicket.
