Swimming – St Peters go 3-in-a-row
St Peters Girls School have been successful in winning the IGSSA Swimming Carnival 3 years in a row. In a close competition all day, with 5 schools in the mix to win it was Saints who came out victorious on the day. Wilderness and Immanuel rounded out the top 3. In the age group pennants, Saints were also successful, winning the Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16 age groups. Pembroke took out the other 2 age groups, the Under 13 and Open categories.
One of the most prestigious IGSSA Individual trophies that we present each year is to the winner of the 50m Freestyle Championship. This year’s winner was Emily White of Pembroke, beating home the top swimmer from each school on the day. Whilst Emily was hoping for slightly quicker than 27.68 seconds, it was an excellent performance to beat a quality field.
