2021 IGSSA Athletics Carnival
The 2021 IGSSA Athletics Carnival was a fiercely fought battle, with 440 registered competitors running, jumping and throwing their way to valuable points for their schools.
IGSSA Sportspersonship was on full display, with early finishing runners staying at the finish line, enthusiastically encouraging those from other schools who trailed behind them. There were cheers of genuine joy for teammates and opponents, whether they were seasoned track and field athletes breaking records, or simply brave girls having a go at something a little unfamiliar. There were winners everywhere on the day!
After missing the title by the tiniest of margins in 2020 (1 point!), the girls from Immanuel ensured the Reid Trophy for the overall winning school was on board the bus headed for Novar Gardens at the end of an arduous day.
Incredibly, 5 individual IGSSA records were broken, all by the talented St Peter’s Girls Team.
