The 2026 IGSSA Summer Season delivered a fantastic showcase of talent, determination, and high-quality competition across all sports. From dominant undefeated runs to nail-biting grand finals, this season had it all.
Tennis
It was a season defined by excellence from both Seymour and Immanuel, who stood head and shoulders above the competition. Their dominance set up a highly anticipated grand final clash, and it certainly lived up to expectations. In a tightly contested match, Immanuel held their nerve to claim a 7–5 victory, capping off an outstanding season with a well-earned premiership.
Cricket
This year marked a historic milestone, with grand finals held at Karen Rolton Oval for the very first time. The first-class venue provided the perfect stage, and the matches matched the occasion.
The Senior B grand final saw an all-Scotch showdown, with Gold overcoming Navy in a spirited contest. Under lights in the Senior A decider, Westminster and Immanuel delivered a thrilling finale. In a game that went down to the wire, Westminster emerged victorious by just three runs, sealing one of the most dramatic finishes of the season, with Westminster skipper Ajay earning Most Valuable Player honours.
Volleyball
Volleyball featured some of the most dominant team performances of the summer.
In the Senior A competition, Seymour hosted Concordia in a blockbuster grand final, with both teams entering undefeated. Concordia proved too strong on the day, winning in straight sets. Their captain, Hannah, delivered an outstanding performance and was deservedly named best on court.
The Middle A competition was equally impressive, with Immanuel completing a flawless season. They defeated Westminster 2–0 in the grand final, finishing the season without dropping a single set—an extraordinary achievement.
Basketball
2026 IGSSA Basketball belonged to Scotch, with both Middle A and Senior A teams emerging as deserving winners after standout seasons.
In the Middle A grand final, Scotch were too strong for Immanuel with their cohesion, depth, and consistent execution standing out to claim the championship. Immanuel had an outstanding season, competing strongly and earning their place in the Grand Final with consistent performances.
The Senior A grand final rounded out the season with Wilderness hosting Scotch – in a neck-and-neck game, Scotch saw off a 6-point deficit midway through the fourth period to emerge 4-point victors, defending their 2025 title and returning the Shield back to the Scotch Trophy Cabinet. Belle Daly of Scotch was awarded Most Valuable Player of the Senior A Grand Final.
