The 2024 IGSSA Awards Breakfast, hosted at Pembroke, was a wonderful celebration of sporting excellence, dedication, and contribution to IGSSA Sport. The event brought together students, coaches, and staff from across IGSSA schools to recognise outstanding achievements throughout the year.
A highlight of the morning was the presentation of the IGSSA Sportsperson of the Year award, which was awarded to Poppy Scholz of Scotch College by our guest speaker, Adelaide Thunderbirds Captain and former IGSSA Athlete Hannah Petty.
In addition to team awards, individual contributors to IGSSA Sport were also recognised. This year marked the introduction of the Ashleigh Young Contribution to IGSSA Sport Award, named in memory of the late Director of Sport at Wilderness, Ashleigh Young. IGSSA was honoured to welcome Ashleigh’s family as special guests at the breakfast, with the awards presented by Bronwyn Young in a touching tribute to Ashleigh’s lasting impact on school sport.
The event was a fitting celebration of another successful year in IGSSA sport, highlighting the dedication and spirit of all involved.
